The Original StoryFilm Idea
The original idea for the StoryFunnel came in 2013, while filming for the world's top Triathlon coaches. None of them wanted to be caught 'selling' their products online in an inauthentic way. So we decided to use StoryTelling in the same documentary film-style way that I was familiar with as a history teacher.
Launching the StoryTelling Agency
Based on the original success of the StoryFilms, Samuel P.N. Cook started a new company called James Cook Media in Poland. Here ee started teaching a Traffic and Conversion Meetup with Ewa Wysocka at Google's Innovation Campus in Warsaw. It was during these meetups where the original idea for teaching StoryTelling & Marketing was born.
$1.8 Million StoryFunnel Case Study
From March 2016 - January 2017, James Cook Media built a marketing funnel on the future SanityDesk Software that generated $1.8 Million in revenue for Peter Sage, a business development coach. Peter was also the first user of the SanityDesk software we used to deliver the idea of StoryFunnels to the world - combining the Art (Story) with the Science (Funnels) of Digital Marketing.
Launching the Original StoryGuild
After the Sage Business School talk, dozens of members from the Sage Business School community asked for help building, and scaling their businesses online. At this point, James Cook Media Founder Samuel P.N. Cook formed the StoryGuild, a 1-year marketing Program to help business owners and marketers build and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy online.
The StoryMatters Workshop
In an effort to bring more StoryFunnels to the world, using our own SanityDesk software, and our video team, we launched the StoryFunnel Workshop. Over the next year and a half, over 50 clients would build and launch their funnel online in a 6-day workshop using the StoryFunnel methodology and our software to test the ideas.
StoryTelling in the Digital Age MasterClass
After years of teaching StoryTelling to high-level coaching clients, we released the StoryTelling in the Digital Age MasterClass, which is the world's top StoryTelling Educational content online, selling over $2 MM in StoryTelling Training with its content over the next 3 years.
The Founding of SanityDesk
Over 4 years after writing the first line of code, we decided to launch our Tech Startup SanityDesk to enable entrepreneurs from all over the world to use the power of StoryFunnels to build their business online. We formed SanityDesk as a SaaS startup on the 31st of October 2019. Since then, we have raised over $1.75 MM in Angel Investment. Our tech and main support offices remain in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The StoryFunnel MasterClass Is Born
In February 2020 SanityDesk launched a Closed BETA version of its software. Based on the early success of our technology, and the need for our clients to learn how to tell their stories online, we launched the StoryFunnel Academy to marry the Art (StoryTelling) and Science (Funnels) into one powerful educational philosophy to help entrepreneurs grow their business online.
